Shrinkies Hair Extension System
Shrinkies are tiny transparent plastic tubes that are dual walled with a Keratin coating on the inside.
A section of your natural hair is inserted in the tube, then the pre-tipped extension is inserted alongside your hair. The tube is then shrink wrapped around both the extension and your natural hair using a fusion wand.
This creates a strong invisible bond without the use of damaging glues or chemicals. The tubes are removed using the fusion wand and any keratin residue left on your natural hair can easily be removed by us using specialist chemical free essential oils.

Who are Shrinkies designed for?
Anyone looking for longer, thicker and more luxurious hair can benefit from the Shrinkie system. If you have fine or fragile hair then then you can benefit enormously from Shrinkies as they add features your natural hair may not have yet they look as natural as your own hair! The other big advantage is if you require just a few highlights or low lights yet you wish to gain this without the need to chemically color your natural hair - either due to previous damage or to maintain it's current healthy condition then Shrinkies allow this to be done.
Will Shrinkies damage my natural hair?
With Shrinkies there is no tension or stretching involved during the installation, maintenance or removal process. No hot glues or chemicals are used at any time. The bonds literally shrink around the extension and your natural hair and the keratin coating inside the tube stops any movement of the bond. Shrinkies are the safest and most comfortable system available today.
How do I care for my Shrinkies once they are fitted?
With Shrinkies you can color, perm or style your hair as normal. Extension hair differs from your natural hair in that although it is 100% human hair, it is no longer living hair receiving nutrients from the scalp. Due to this extra care does need to be given during washing, conditioning and styling to keep it looking as healthy as the day it is put in. How long will Shrinkies last in my hair?
This is purely in your own hands! With regular maintenance and the use of the recommended quality products your extensions will stay soft, silky and manageable. The extensions are pre-tipped and therefore re-usable if the condition of the hair is still good. Love Goddess Hair recommend that you don't allow your natural hair to grow more than 1 to 1.5 inches (approx 3cm) before re-installation as if left longer than this then the risk of breakage from brushing or styling is increased greatly. Obviously this all depends on your natural hair growth rate but this is usually around a 2-3 month period.
Before going into detail on the Shrinkie system it is first important to explain cuticles. As hair is natural it grows from the root outwards to the tip. Cuticles are small overlapping "plates" that give hair it's strength and also maintains it's appearance. When conditioning hair it is the cuticles you are targeting and helping to protect from damage.
The picture below shows a normal hair cuticle. When we create hair extensions we only use natural human hair - synthetic hair is available but in our opinion you will never get the same look - synthetic hair does not act/react or look as good as real hair and that is proven!
Cheaper natural hair products are available on the market. These are created with lesser quality natural hair - it may be damaged hair - it may be non cuticle correct (basically it is important that all extensions are "cuticle correct" - this means each strand of hair runs the same natural way - this is with cuticles going from root to tip.
If this wasn't followed then when brushing or washing the adjacent hairs would actually rub together and act like velcro - snagging adjacent pieces of hair and resulting in damage or uncontrollable hair. Rest assured we use premium extensions products
